Final Core: Kiyohime & Satori

Satori
Kiyohime

Many people are well acquainted with mythology and its morals. During my quest through mythologies  throughout  different  cultures  I  began  to  think  about  what  these characters mean to us today. A big curiosity of mine is how these beings would transfer into today's time. What I mean by this is what would represent a mythological creature in real life? One of my works, Satori, is what would be, in my own interpretation, a representation of it in real life. I used symbolism in the images I chose to superimpose onto the painting/collage as a whole and by this I mean I included motifs and specific details included in the myths inside the works to reference the originals.  For the two works I have created, I utilized a mixture of acrylic paints, tempura paints, tissue paper and printed images (related to the subject matter).
